ABOUT ME! Obviously, the site is about digital scrapbooking, which I absolutely love.
PERSONAL INFO - (It won’t hurt my feelings a bit if you skip this paragraph) I am single, never been married, but I have had foster kids who were the loves of my life. All total I had 12 kids. Now days I dote on nieces and nephews, ranging in ages from 2 to 25 (and a great-niece). I have been a high school teacher, a computer trainer, a cruise and tour director and owned my own business. I volunteer with the Red Cross, am CERT trained, and work with the kids in my church. How’s that for a compilation of diverse occupations! I grew up in Alaska as the eldest of six kids though the last one was not born until I left for college. I got my bachelor’s degree from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas (great school if you’re looking for a place to go or send your kiddos).
OK, so enough about me…what is the site about? Oh, I’m so glad you asked!!
SCRAPBOOKING – These days with all the digital cameras, laptops, and programs for scrapbooking it is not only easy but almost criminal NOT to scrapbook your photos. Future generations will thank you for preserving the family history for them.
Using a digital camera and taking digital photos (with no development time or costs) and putting them directly on a scrapbook page is just awesome. Same events as before digital – take photo, put on page and save for future generations. But with digital scrapbooks I have total control with color, size, fading, graphics, word art, journaling, etc. AND IT’S FUN!! This is a lot of what I’ll share with you.
I hope you will join me on this journey of discovery, to create your own scrapbook pages, preserve your family story, and how to share them with those you love.
PHOTOSHOP – If you are looking for a program to use for scrapbooking I cannot advise strongly enough that you go with Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. If you’re a professional you will want the former and a consumer the latter unless you have money to burn. Elements these days is absolutely wonderful so you won’t be losing all that much by not going with the professional version (though if you can afford it, it is truly amazing).
PHOTOGRAPHY – I am getting more and more into photography. If you’re looking to buy a camera or any of the myriad accessories (tripods, lens, bags, etc.) that go with one be sure to ask. I can give lots of information from a fairly new learner perspective and I’m always willing to share. Both of my cameras are Canons. My newest one is a Canon EOS 60D. Wow, what a fantastic camera.
PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS – Every once in a while I will come across a product that I like, use and usually find a good deal (price) on. I am more than happy to share these with you when I can.
To contact me either go to the “Contact Me” page OR send an email to PatriciaD AT digitalscrapbooklessons DOT com – Please always be kind and considerate when writing.
